Bling Your Bike

December 18, 2015 by admin

3rd December 2015

Rio Floreza was in school for the ‘Bling your bike or scooter’ competition. We would like to thank everybody who put the time and effort into ‘blinging’ their bikes. We were overwhelmed with the number of entries, especially on such a wet and windy day! The unenviable task of choosing a winner was left to Rio, who was impressed with the number and quality of the entries. We would like to say a big congratulations to Scarlett who not only won best in school, but went on to win the overall prize which was a new bike kindly supplied by Sustrans and Inspiral Cycles in Bishop Auckland.

A sad day as we say goodbye to Mrs Brennan as she retires to enjoy new adventures in her life. We enjoyed a lovely buffet lunch and Mrs Brennan was presented with a beautiful bouquet and a new handbag as a parting gift. We will miss Mrs Brennan but will stay in touch.

The staff there are friendly, welcoming and caring people and the children respond well to the calm approach and atmosphere. the children listened to a range of stories from the past and took part in a quiz related to the artefacts and videos they had seen. the staff at the Church commented on the good behaviour by every class which was very pleasing.

Walworth Castle Birds of Prey

August 13, 2015 by admin

Tuesday 16th June 2015

The children loved the visit from Walworth Castle Birds of Prey. First the handlers went into each class with several owls and explained some owl facts to the children. After this the whole school went onto the field to watch a display which was very interactive! Mr Raine had to stand with his hand on his hip while a small hawk flew through! It was amazing! Then the children made two long lines and the birds flew inbetween them. It was fascinating to watch and exciting for the children. Thank you to Walworth Castle Birds of Prey.
