Pancakes were on the menu today as class 5 opened their own pancake shop. After deciding on the name (Pancake Mania) the children each had a turn of taking orders, cooking, preparing and delivering pancakes. Orders came in thick and fast from staff and so the children decided to write a list so that they could remember. Others took money from staff and gave change. Pancake Mania became very hectic at lunch time but the children coped very well. The learning throughout the day was put into a real context and children discussed the pros and cons of working in a real restaurant.
