Year 2 had a wonderful day at Durham Cathedral. The bus arrived on time and the journey through to Durham was exciting for the children. A short walk up the hill and we were at the Cathedral. Harry was our tour guide and he knew lots of facts about St Cuthbert. Some of the children got to dress up as monks or milk maids. The story of St Cuthbert came to life through the stories told by Harry then we finally got to visit Cuthbert’s shrine. Tilly and Kieran lit a candle and we did a little prayer. Everyone was ready for dinner so we went to the cloisters after our tour and enjoyed lunch with Class 5. We did some observational drawing then looked at the lego Cathedral. It was amazing! Everyone enjoyed their day.
